Jeff Liverman is guitarist, songwriter, and luthier living in Floyd VA.

He has spent the last five years studying songs from the 1920’s and 30’s.  Jeff was inspired by the classic collection of music, The Anthology of American Folk Music, to delve deeply in the early period of recorded music.  Prior to moving to Floyd, Jeff played music and recorded in Richmond with his band Dirtball and most recently he helped launch a street music scene in Danville.

Liverman grew up in the fertile musical river valley of the James in and around Richmond VA.  In 1988 he gathered together a group of musicians to form the Eastern European folk music band Pico Pico.  This short-lived band spawned a number of Richmond super groups including BioRitmo, Chrome Daddy Disco, and Dirtball.  Along with Dirtball, Liverman recorded three cds on Fundamental and Planetary Records.   Today Jeff writes and performs from his home in Floyd.
