April 5, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$20 – $25
50 Years in the Making – A concert of old-time, blues, and bluegrass music
On Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the Montgomery Museum of Art and History will present a concert by over 10 renowned masters of old-time, blues, and bluegrass music at 7:00 PM at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.
Led by guitarist and singer Jack Hinshelwood as host, the concert’s remarkable line up of artists includes Phil Wiggins, Rob Ickes, Trey Hensley, Butch Robins, Ivy Phillips, Scott Freeman, Jacob Eller, Debbie Yates, and Sandy Shortridge. These artists are all part of a new 22-track anthology recording project being released by Hinshelwood at the concert also entitled “50 Years in the Making,” because the recording includes songs and instrumentals Hinshelwood has been gathering in his repertoire for 50 years.
To continue to fulfill its mission of Preserving History/Presenting Art, the Montgomery Museum is proud to present this concert celebrating the region’s traditional music heritage at the Moss Arts Center, one of the area’s premiere arts venues. Ticket prices are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $5 for children aged 12 and under. All proceeds will benefit the Montgomery Museum of Art & History.
