Carter Family Fold – Leftover Biscuits

HILTONS Saturday, June 18^th, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia will present a concert of old time music by Leftover Biscuits. This concert is one of several for Leftover Biscuits at the Fold, and our audience is familiar with the musicians who make up this group. Concert admission is $10 for adults, $2 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free. Tickets are available at the door. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the Carter Family Museum and Carter birthplace cabin are open from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and again at intermission.

            Leftover Biscuits are members of several groups who have often performed at the Fold. Dr. Mark Handy is well-known to Fold audiences from multiple performances with Mountain Park Old Time Band as well as Tune Town Old Time. When he isn’t performing, Dr. Handy practices medicine in Abingdon, Virginia, farms, and runs an Air B & B in his spare time – & he’s a champion clogger as well. Joy Patton has performed often with Tune Town playing old time fiddle. Roger Stamper normally fiddles for Mountain Park – but will be featured on guitar for this performance. Tammy Martin was a dear friend and second daughter to Janette Carter and performed with Fire in the Kitchen for many years.

            Fans of old time music will love Leftover Biscuits. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes and be ready for a night of down-home fun. There will be lots of fiddling for those who love dancing. Nothing gets you out of your seat and on the dance floor faster than a rousing old time band. Carter Family Memorial Music Center is a nonprofit, rural arts organization established to preserve traditional, acoustic mountain music.
