Carter Family Fold – March 5 Opening with Hogslop String Band
March 5, 2022 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm$10.00
Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert of old time music by the Hogslop String Band. Adult admission to the concert is $10 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free.
This concert will mark our reopening for 2022. The Center closed in late November due to a covid resurgence. Prior to the last closure, we were closed for 18 months due to covid and reopened briefly only to have to close yet again. We are delighted to reopen and hope nothing will again put us in a position of closing. Please come out and help us celebrate reopening after what has been an extremely difficult time for our country, indeed the world.
The Hogslop String Band is a Nashville based old time string band comprised of five energetic young musicians hailing from Georgia, Tennessee, California, and North Carolina. Featuring Kevin Martin on fiddle, Graham Sherrill on banjo, Gabriel Kelley on guitar, and Casey “Pickle” McBride on the washtub bass, these boys surely raise a ruckus.
Hogslop String Band creates and performs cross-genre music that pushes the boundaries of what old time music could and should be, blending country, psych, and astounding stamina for an energetic performance. Hogslop has shared stages with the likes of the Avett Brothers, Lukas Nelson, Del McCoury, Punch Brothers, the Infamous Stringdusters, Yonder Mountain Stringband, Dom Flemoms, and many more.
