Free Screenings of “Lawless”

Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a trio of bootlegging brothers are threatened by authorities angling for a cut of their moonshine profits.
Starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, and Guy Pearce, this 2012 American crime drama is based on Matt Bondurant’s work of historical fiction, “The Wettest County in the World.”
The Franklin County Public Library, Franklin County Office of Tourism, Westlake Cinema, and Willard Companies have partnered to host these free screenings as part of the annual Franklin County Moonshine Heritage Month.
The screenings will take place at the Westlake Cinema, 84 Westlake Rd #117, Hardy, VA 24101.
