Funding Opportunities for Artists – Beginning in 2025

The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail aims to support the cultural arts infrastructure of Southwest Virginia by directly supporting the work of musicians and dancers in the region. The Crooked Road’s Artist Support Fund offers financial support to artists’ creative projects such as recordings and productions. Funding may also support professional development opportunities as well as the purchase of materials for teaching and instruction in traditional music or dance. Funding is limited to $500 per artist per year. Funding opportunities are limited each year.

Artists must complete the following application to request funding support. These applications are reviewed by staff and board members of The Crooked Road to determine eligibility and awards.

(Please include a short description of your work, years of experience, and how your work impacts the larger cultural music scene of the region):
(Please describe in detail how these funds will be used, including any impact the funding may have on your career, students, etc.)
