Built in 1930, the courthouse is the third structure on the East Main Street site. Monuments to veterans of the American Revolution, Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam stand on the courthouse lawn as reminders of Bedford’s great sacrifice for the cause of freedom. Bedford has been selected as the site for the National D-Day Monument in recognition of its solemn distinction as the community sustaining the highest per capita loss of lives during the invasion of Normandy, France. Records Room closed on weekends.
