The Chatmoss Historic Marker is located at 550 Mt. Olivet Martinsville, VA at Chatmoss Country Club. The marker is within sight of the parking lot of the country club.
Chatmoss was one of about fifty Hairston family plantations in Virginia, North Carolina and Mississippi. This vast network encompassed tens of thousands of acres and was worked by thousands of enslaved African Americans.
