The City of Norton’s Flag Rock Recreation Area offers an 18-site campground that is open annually April 1 to Oct. 30. The campground is located near numerous outdoor recreation opportunities that include mountain biking, hiking, trail running, rock climbing, fishing, and canoeing/kayaking. The campground is also located adjacent to the Jefferson National Forest and is within a short hike, bike ride, or drive from the High Knob summit and observation tower. The campground offers 18 single units with full hookups. Each camping unit has a parking spur, tent pad, wooden picnic table, and fire pit with grill. The campground also includes a trailer waste disposal station. Campsites are $20 a night. Other amenities include hot showers and flush toilets.
