The Oak Grove Boat Access Facility is ideally located near Hales Ford Bridge on Smith Mountain Lake, a 20,600 acre lake with over 500 miles of picturesque shoreline surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The 10-acre accessible facility offers public access to the lake’s natural beauty and recreational activities. It features a two-lane concrete boat ramp with courtesy piers, a large fishing pier, parking for 60 vehicles with trailers which includes an overflow parking area, dusk to dawn lighting, and public restrooms. All amenities are available to visitors 24 hours a day at no cost.
To access the Oak Grove facility from Route 122, visitors can take Merriman Road (Route 666) to Oldfield Road (Route 978) and follow it to Oak Grove Drive (Route 1230).
