Henry County Parks and Recreation provides easy access for paddlers to the Smith River. This public river access point is located at the Smith River Sports Complex. In addition to the River Access, the Sports Complex has a variety of trails, playgrounds and other recreation opportunities. Paddlers should be aware that the entrance ramp is rustic and that water levels are subject to rapid change due to releases from Philpott Dam. Water temperature is cold year round. Paddlers should check USGS gauges and please call for water release schedule.
