The Oxbow Center provides professional and creative space and serves as a hub for local and regional business growth, community development, and ecological education. The Oxbow Center hopes to partner with people from various businesses, ventures, projects and trades to create a network of professional support and, in turn, promote economic development in the region.
The first field station of its kind in Virginia’s Clinch River Valley, the CREEC is managed by the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and is nestled on the banks of the Clinch River, one of the most biodiverse freshwater ecosystems in North America. The field station provides opportunities for education, research and experiential learning in biology, ecology and related fields for community college, college and university students, and for K-12 students and teachers.
