Drive South on Route 8 from Floyd and twist down the mountain to Woolwine. This is a favorite fall drive when the leaves are at peak color. At the base of the mountain you will find Rock Castle Gorge Trail, Wade’s Produce Stand, Rose Window Art Gallery, I. C. DeHart Memorial Park Virginia State Championship Mountain Bike Trail and Jack’s Creek Covered Bridge. Stop for lunch at Howell’s Grocery for the best hamburger in the state.
