Henry County Parks and Recreation provide a convenient access point for paddlers to enjoy the scenic Smith River. Parking is available on site. After entering the river, paddlers will enjoy a scenic section of the Smith River with mature hardwoods and views of wildlife. Paddlers can take out on river left at the Smith River Sports Complex. Class I and II rapids are possible and paddlers should check the USGS gauges. Paddlers should be aware that the entrance ramp is steep and that the water temperature is cold year round.
