This jewel of a festival is held from Friday to Sunday the third full weekend in July and attracts thousands every year to one of Virginia’s loveliest State Parks. The Festival is held rain or shine and features a multitude of family friendly activities including live music, clogging, lots of arts and crafts, and plenty of festival food vendors.  They also present superb workshops by some of the region’s finest traditional artists in clawhammer style banjo, old time fiddle, guitar and other instruments.

Many attendees also take advantage of the Park’s year round activities like boating and hiking.  Proceeds from the event fund a variety of cultural activities including college scholarships for county high school seniors and a county-wide art show for high school students.

Free shuttle rides to the festival are provided from downtown Marion and within Hungry Mother State Park.
