The Wayne C. Henderson School of Appalachian Arts is an art school in Marion, VA. The Henderson aims to preserve, promote and provide a learning experience that has its roots in the culture and heritage of the Appalachian mountains.
The Henderson, built in 1908, is named for Wayne C. Henderson, a world renowned guitar instrumentalist and Luthier from Rugby, Virginia. The Henderson offers various workshops that focus on instrument building. These workshops are taught in the world-class Gerald Anderson Lutherie, named after the talented Luthier from Troutdale, Virginia.
The Henderson is also home to the Marion Monday Night Jam. The jam is free for all attendees, and welcome to musicians of all skill sets, and music lovers!
The Marion Monday Night Jam takes place every Monday night at 6:00 PM.
