This fiddlers convention honors the legacy of Old Time fiddler Henry Reed from Glen Lyn, VA whose extensive repertoire of Old Time fiddle music has been documented by the Smithsonian Institute among others. The event is located in the municipal park with plenty of camping and late night jam sessions. The Reed family is very involved in coordinating and playing in the festival. Terry Reed broadcasts the festival from WNRV and Henry’s son Dean plays guitar with Chris Via and the Giles Mt. String Band, all devotees of Henry Reed’s music.
